Fibromyalgia
Anyone who has fibromyalgia will recognize these symptoms. You get up in the morning and can't get up out of bed. When you finally accomplish the getting up and out of bed part, you realize that you can only hobble down the stairs one at a time like a creaky old grandmother. You are made aware of aches and pains every time you sit for more than about fifteen minutes. You can touch almost any part of your body and be amazed at how tender all your parts really are (and this is tender as in painful). You are frequently more tired than you think you should be and you don't really have a good reason to be that tired. You are too tired to even consider doing something that you are sure would be fun "if I weren't so tired". You sleep fitfully and wake up feeling like you did not sleep at all.
These are the everyday experiences of the fibromyalgia sufferer. You are not a "crock". You are not imagining these things. These are aspects of the "syndrome" called fibromyalgia (FMS) that you live with 24-7. There are many sources of information available today to make those of us with FMS more informed about this chronic disease process this is, literally, a "pain". There are medical studies being done that may shed more light on how we develop this chronic, non-progressive illness that is so hard to diagnose and has no actual "tests" that can identify it.
